Tekken 6 Video

Here's the latest media on Tekken 6 straight from the private show held recently in Japan. The game is supposedly at about 50 percent completion, with about 40 characters in the roster including pretty much everyone from the previous installment and the new additions. It's the first time we see Miguel, the matador seeking revenge, in action and in his CG cinematics. The video features quite a lot of stuff, although there's no sound and the frame rate is pretty choppy. Shown are stages, some of which have multiple tiers/levels, some gameplay, tons of characters in action, character customizations (which seem more detailed and extensive ala Virtua Fighter 5), the special item attacks (Anna's shoe fling is finally seen, along with other item attacks), the Rage System and more.

We also get a glimpse of the CG cutscenes, one clip in particular showing what appears to be a dragon-like humanoid monster straining against some chains... pretty easy to figure out that this bruiser is probably waiting at the end of the story mode as the Boss. Just what is he/she/it? We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm stoked, really... this and Soul Calibur IV have made me a Namco fan again. The fighting game race is once again on with the champions of the genre throwing their hats into the ring. All I can say is, it's about time.
